Richard Rae Westlake

LT. COL. (Ret) Richard Rae "Rick" Westlake, age 63, of the Joan Community passed from this life on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his home. He was born December 5, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of the late Noble Charles "Red" and Mary Graham Westlake. Rick was retired Lt. Colonel with the United States Army, a farmer and gifted body repairman. He is survived by a daughter, Kara (Shawn) Neville of Smithton, Ill., stepson, Charles (Anna) Givens of Joan, special friend, Linda Ashford of Benton, one brother, Charles Westlake of Cabot, two sisters, Betsy Hauffman of Little Rock and Mary Ellen Baker of Knoxville, Tenn., and one step-grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia with Bro. David Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Clark County, 627 Walnut, Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923.
