Mrs. Geneva Byrd passed away Wednesday, October 31st, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas at the age of 94. Born in 1918 in Tamo, Arkansas, Mrs. Byrd lived in Arkansas her whole life, mostly in Jefferson County. She was a member of Jerusalem Number Three Church in Gethsemane, where she was Mother of the Church. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wilkerson and Ozaner Hampton, her first husband Herman Sloan, second husband John Byrd--to whom she was married at the time of his death, much-loved sisters Rosie Lee Culclager and Ruth, brother J. W. Wilkerson, and stepson John Lee Park. Survivors include cousin Ernestine Marshall, Marvin Turner, Elgie Walker, and a host of friends and extended family members, including all of the Edmond Freeman family--all of who loved her and who will cherish her memory forever. Mrs. Byrd was a loving, kind, and inspiring mother, grandmother, and friend to many, helping shape many lives with her shining example, wisdom, kindness, and steadfast love. Devoted lifelong to her faith, she loved God, her family, friends, growing things, her beloved pets, and the Summertime. Mrs. Byrd was a powerful force, loved by all whose lives she touched. She was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed. There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 4th at Roller-England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939, 202 Stuttgart Highway, England, Ark.
