James R. Dailey

James R. Dailey, formerly of McRae, Arkansas, died October 30, 2012. He was 89. He was born July 13, 1924 to the late William and Gertrude Dailey. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Stout Dailey; a son, James S. Dailey of San Francisco, California; a daughter, Beth Lane; son-in-law, Wynn Lane; and granddaughter Meredith Lane, all of Arlington, Texas; and two sisters, Adelene Bearden of Batesville and Freda Smith of Rogers. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Dailey and a sister, Irene Morris. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, a former member of the Arkansas National Guard, a former Arkansas teacher, educator and administrator, and was retired from the Arkansas Rehabilitation Service. He received his Bachelor's Degree in 1950 from the University of Central Arkansas and a Master's Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1954, and was a loyal Arkansas Razorbacks fan. He was a Methodist. Services and interment were held on Friday, November 2, at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe.
