Johnie Raymond Hester

Johnie Raymond "J.R." Hester of Sheridan, Arkansas was born February 11, 1931 in Bigelow, Arkansas the son of the late John Little and Ruby A. Kisner Hester. He was a member of First United Methodist in Sheridan, had retired from Farmers Insurance Group, had served in the United States Navy and for many years had owned and operated a grocery store at Hardin. Mr. Hester died Friday, November 2, 2012 at Heritage of Hot Springs at the age of 81. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Josh Easley. Survivors, wife, Norma Gress Hester of Sheridan; son, Drs. Richard Hester and wife Karen of Blytheville; daughters, Ailene Easley and husband Eddy of Sheridan; Denise Henley and husband Dave of Houston, Texas; Charlene Ware and husband J.R. of Sheridan; sister, Carol Jean Draper of Claremore, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Seth Easley, Jake Easley, Candice Owens, Blake Henley, Nathan Ware, Nick Ware, Alec Hester and Leslie Hester; two great-grandchildren, Grace Owens and Austin Easley. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2 until 3 p.m. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Arkansas 10411 W.
