Charles Don Collier passed away Saturday, November 3, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Montgomery County, Mississippi, on January 14, 1938 to Calvin Lumas Collier and Lois Tanksley Collier. He was a proud graduate of Eupora High School and Mississippi State University. He met Linda Prothro in Laurel, Mississippi. They were married August 23, 1963. They lived in Laurel, Mobile, New Orleans, Jackson, MS, and finally in Conway, Arkansas. They were married for over 49 years and had three children together. Don worked with the Mississippi State Board of Health in Laurel and Jackson. He was soon recruited by Bob Benson to work for Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals. Don was a pharmaceutical rep for over 30 years and loved his job. Don made many friends over the years and loved them all dearly. He loved Mississippi State football, tolerated the Razorbacks, and made a good show of hating the Ole Miss Rebels. He also loved the communities of Moose, Wyoming, and Higden, Arkansas, and anywhere else he could take pictures of wildlife. He was a 30-year member of University Church of Christ, frequent visitor of Bob's Grill, and a friend of Bill W. Survivors include Linda P. Collier, his wife, and three children: Dendy and partner Carroll Hyatt of Little Rock; Carl and fiance Shana Woolems of Fayetteville; and Donna Collier of Memphis. He also leaves his sister and brother-in-law Sue and Earl Lowe of Birmingham, Alabama; sister-in-law Becky Kyzer of Conway; and dear family friend Lynne Brewer of Conway. He also leaves behind Murphy and Oreo, the family's canine skunk-magnets. Other survivors include a host of friends from all over the country, including a number of Ole Miss fans. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Faulkner County. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Wednesday, November 7, followed by a memorial service at the same location at 3 p.m. An additional memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10 in Eupora, Miiss. at 11 a.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
