Charlie Joe Trimble, 71, of Sherwood passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012. He was born August 19, 1941, in Gillett, Arkansas, to Eugene and Lena Whiteside Trimble. As a Christian and a patriot in spirit and deed, Chuck was known for his sense of humor and generosity. He served in the United States Navy for 21 years, retiring as Chief Warrant Officer, 4th pay grade, going on to pass the CPA exam, earning a master's degree in Financial Management and a doctorate in Business Administration. He taught in colleges in Louisiana, Georgia, and Arkansas, and established the continuing education program at Central Baptist College, Conway. Chuck was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gravel Ridge, the National Association of Certified Public Accountants, Military Officers Association of America, was Vice President of the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch #282, and Treasurer of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2935. Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his wife Sarah Trimble; son, Jerry Don Trimble of Baton Rouge, La; stepsons, James Kinnard of Chicago, Ill., and Timothy Kinnard of Maumelle, and stepdaughter, Melody Kiriakidis of Fayetteville; brother Eugene Trimble Jr. of Gillett; sister Doris Woodall and nephew Lewis Haller of Heber Springs; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. Service will be at the First Baptist Church of Gravel Ridge, 10 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012. Memorial gifts may be sent to Wounded Warriors Project.
