Barbara Renee Bell, age 54, of Ishpeming, Michigan and former Marquette, Michigan resident, entered eternal life Thursday evening, November 1, 2012, at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming where she resided. Barbara or "Renee" as she was known, was born November 7, 1957 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Donnie and Barbara (Hoover) Keeney. Her father served in the US Air Force and the family resided at a number of base locations throughout the years. Some of Renee's formative years were at Kinross Air Force Base and later K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, where she graduated from the Gwinn High School. She later married and resided in Marquette for several years before moving to Rogers, Arkansas to reside with her mother. Renee loved Upper Michigan and, when she became ill, came to Ishpeming in July to be near her children. She loved the beauty of the area and enjoyed walking. Renee was a talented artist who admired art in all its forms, enjoyed drawing, participating in bingo, loved karaoke, music of all genres from country to rock, and was active with arts and crafts at the Mather Nursing Center. Renee is survived by her sons, Charles (Jessica Payne) Given of Ishpeming and Michael (Michelle) Bell of L'Anse; her grandchildren, Katelyn Given and Haley Bell; and her mother, Barbara Loriaux of Rogers, Ark. Renee was preceded in death by her father, Donnie Keeney; step-father, Victor Loriaux; and her brother, Gary Don Keeney. Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Saturday, November 10 from 12 noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. Pastor Alan McCall will officiate. Burial will be made in the Park Cemetery.
