Darlene Shumaker Mitchell

Darlene Shumaker Mitchell was born January 9, 1957 to Mattie Shumaker and Rehoma Shumaker, Darlene was the fifth child of nine children. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Larry Shumaker and Rehoma Shumaker Jr. her grandparents, one son Theodore (Teddy) Mitchell 1st. Darlene loved working for Carti. Darlene was an outgoing person she would help everyone that she could. She had the desire to become a nurse and that is what she did. Darlene was a very loving and kind person. Darlene was a people person and she loved her children, grandchildren and just everyone she came on contact with. She never met a stranger. Darlene went to school in the U.S and abroad. She graduated in Lawton, Okla. Darlene professed a hope in Christ at an early age at East Side Baptist Church. Darlene was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life Machita Mitchell Sr. November 12, 1976. She continued her education in nursing in Witchita Falls, Tx. Two sons were born after their birth they moved to Little Rock, Ark. Darlene leaves to cherish her memories her Loyal and Devoted husband Machita Mitchell Sr., one son, Machita Mitchell Jr. (special friend Dee) six grandsons; Michael, TeDarien, Jarvis, Qushaun, Joey, and Maky: three brothers; Jonothan, Emanuel, and Kenneth Shumaker; three sisters; Corrin Jackson, Jacquelyn Waterford, and Geraldine Mims. mother–in-law Eva Lee Mitchell; two sisters-in-law, Tosca Perry, and Vonda Williams, two aunts, Norman Jean Clark, Artelia Wilson; special friends Crystal Kelly, and Lisa Moore; a very special friend who was like a daughter, Ebony Morgan; host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends and the entire Carti family. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 1st Baptist Church, 811 Scipio A. Jones Drive, North Little Rock.
