Velma Casey Wood, 92, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. She was born in Shiloh, Arkansas on December 14, 1919 to the late John Robert Casey and Lois Mae Haskins Casey. She was a friend and caregiver to all. She knew no strangers. She was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church of Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman L. Wood; and parents; two brothers and grandson, Ricky Bruck. She is survived by daughters, Sherry Roberts and husband, Mike (the son she never had); Pam Bruck both of Benton; sister, Tommie Burchett; sisters-in-law, Elsie Abbott and Laniece Wood; granddaughters, Amanda Maston and husband, Jonathan; Calli Roberts of North Little Rock; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Carson and Mackenzie Matson of Bryant and a host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to Alexander First Baptist Church and her caregivers at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2012 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800.
