Ruby Caurene Hartness Pierce, age 87, of Crossett, Ark., passed away on November 5, 2012. She was born on July 25, 1925 in Cominto, Ark. to her parents, Andrew Jackson and Maggie Ethline Lee Hartness. Mrs. Pierce was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Pierce; two sons, Micheal O. Pierce, Thomas Hampton Pierce and two brothers, James Marion Hartness and Rev. Robert Francis Hartness. Survivors include one son, Andrew William Pierce and wife, Laurie of Baton Rouge, La.; daughter, Wanda Dianne Pierce of Crossett, Ark.; six grandchildren, Gloria Hill and husband, Chris of Stoneville, N.C., Tony Pierce and wife, Jennifer of Benton, La., Sandra Kleinert and husband, Shorel of East Asia, Kelly Smith of Crossett, Ark., Chelsea Pierce of Houston, Texas, Whitney Pierce of Baton Rouge, La. and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Bro. Eric Hodge and Bro. David Tohlen officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com). Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at Mt.
