Amanda Johnson Edwards

Amanda Johnson Edwards, age 87, of Bald Knob, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 in Searcy. She was born May 31, 1925 in Bald Knob to James Allen Johnson and Luvenia Hardison Johnson. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bald Knob and worked most of her life as a teacher. She is survived by six sons, George Edwards Jr. and wife Pat, James Allen Edwards, Garland Edwards and wife Rose, Paul Edwards and wife Joyce, Terry Edwards and wife Verla, Michael Edwards; two daughters, Janet Anderson, Julie Cannon; three Godchildren, Jason Fultz, Matthew Fultz, Kenyatta Haynes; one sister, Emma Jean Johnson; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Allen and Luvenia Johnson; husband, George Edwards Sr.; three brothers, Roosevelt Johnson, Earl Johnson, Preston Johnson and one sister, Bernice Miller. Visitation is Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services are Monday at 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Bald Knob.
