Clinton Millard "Buck" Helms, age 88, of Eudora, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at his home in Eudora. He was born July 5, 1924, in Oak Grove, La., the son of the late Albert Helms and Ruth Watson Helms. He was a retired contractor, a farmer and a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. He especially loved Ms. Edith, family, friends, hunting, fishing, the Razorbacks, all sports, and the farms. He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Edith Hensley Helms of Eudora; two sons, Jerry Don Helms and wife, Sarah, of Houston, Texas, and Johnny Albert Helms of Eudora; a daughter, Diane H. Grubbs and husband, Claude of Eudora; two brothers, H.L. and Don Helms both of Houston, Texas; a sister, Elizabeth Saint John of California; two grandsons, John Albert Helms Jr. and Claude Willis Grubbs Jr. and wife, Kimberly and a great-grandson, Matthew Tyler Grubbs. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at Bishop Funeral Home in Eudora, and also at the Helms residence on Grand Lake at the same time. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Bro. Ricky Myers officiating. Arrangements were made by Bishop Funeral Home of Eudora. Pallbearers are, John Chestnut, Lindy Brown, Michael Brown, Jeffery Brown, John Gates, Henry Hensley, and Roger Hensley. Honorary Pallbearers are, San Aikens, Jessie Allen, Jerry Barnes, Lawrence Edwards, Wayne Ester, Randy Gillum, James Lawson, Roger Morgan, Kenny Reed, Russie Reed, Carl Strong, and Jessie Thorton.
