DEAN "DEANIE" NELSON, 76, of Jacksonville died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012. She was born July 30, 1936 in North Little Rock to the late Wilber H. and Blanche Bell Trotter Pearl. Mrs. Nelson was an active member of Second Baptist Church, where she taught Bible School and sang in the choir. She was also very involved in the lives of her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Nelson, Sr. Mrs. Nelson is survived by her sons, Donald E. Nelson, Jr. and his wife Kim and Danny Nelson and his wife Wendy, all of Oklahoma; her brother, Bo Pearl and his wife Loretta of Jacksonville; her grandchildren, Nikki Flynt, Danielle Nelson and their mother, Lisa Nelson, Lauren and Amanda Nelson and Jackie and Zack Denley as well as great grandchildren, Taytum Watson and Peyton Flynt and a niece, Terri Pearl.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville with Dr. Steve Walter and Reverend Ron Raines officiating. Burial will follow at Bayou Meto Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
