Dow Tiner

Dow Tiner, age 83, of North Little Rock, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Cabot Arkansas. He was born July 14, 1929 in Jefferson County, Arkansas; and was the son of David Edward Tiner and Ethleen Tiner. Dow was a United States Army Tank Commander and veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was the owner of Tiner Welding Company in Levy, and served as a police officer for the Veteran's Administration. He and was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Scimitar Temple and a member of the Shriners Diners Unit. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Emma Jean Tiner of North Little Rock; a son David Tiner of Sherwood; grandchildren Cindy Tiner of Sherwood, Cathy Tiner of North Little Rock and Jeff Tiner of Orlando, Florida; sisters Arkie Tracy of Morrilton, Evalee Smith of Morrilton and Vivian Smith of White Hall; one brother Gene Tiner of Pine Bluff and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. both at Levy Baptist Church in North Little Rock, burial will be at a later date at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock under the direction of Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
