John "J. P." Paul Jones, age 80, of White Hall, died Monday, November 19, 2012. Born June 7, 1932 in Sheridan, J.P. was a son of the late William Wallace Jones and Nannie Eron Wallace Jones. He graduated from Warren High School and Arkansas A&M College (now UA Monticello). He also served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Jones founded Jones, Jones, and Jones Tax Service in 1964, and operated it for 46 years until his retirement in 2010. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, he enjoyed traveling, golfing, and playing dominoes. He especially enjoyed doting on all of his 11 grandchildren, who adored him. Some of the best memories were made on Greer's Ferry Lake, where all of his family would gather for rides on the party barge, four-wheelers, and playing games, especially basketball. G-Daddy was a very special person. Predeceasing Mr. Jones are four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his wife, Rosalyn Finkbeiner Jones, whom he married on February 6, 1954 at Greenville, Miss.; sons, Scotty Jones of Monticello, Chris Jones (Julie) and Dean Jones all of Austin, Texas, John P. "Jay" Jones Jr. of White Hall, and Mark Jones (Beth) of Russellville; daughter, Cindy Jones Monteith of Russellville; brother, Fred Jones of Mt. Ida; grandchildren, Laurel Stricklin (Beau) of Honolulu, Hawaii, John Paul "Jayson" Jones, III (Scarlett) of Benton, Bryant Monteith, and Matthew, Amanda, and Douglas Jones, all of Austin, Texas, Megan Terry (Arlington) of Columbus, Miss., Anna Jones of Kingsland, Hudson and Tabor Jones of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Sammy Jones of Russellville; great-grandchildren, Paris, Cole, Tucker, and Sailor Stricklin of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Natalie Terry of Columbus, Miss.S; along with his special cats, Cali and Oreo. Memorial Services will be Friday, 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Dean Clausing officiating. Arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 p.m. until service time in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
