Jewel Basinger

Jewel Basinger age 86, of Searcy, died, Monday, November 19, 2012 in Searcy. He was born January 8, 1926, in Clifton, Tennessee to Charley and Myrtle Clifton Basinger. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He also was a U.S. Army Veteran of Korea, retiring after 20 years of service. Following his military service, Mr. Basinger worked in supply as a civilian with the US Marines, retiring after 18 years. He is survived by his wife, Mitsue Basinger; one sister, Audrey Hoxworth of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; a nephew, Phillip Basinger and wife Yolanda of Conway; and two nieces, Janet Estes of Cabot and Melinda Basinger of Ward. Visitation will be 12:30 until 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Searcy with interment to follow at White County Memorial Gardens.
