Marion Locke Horton

Marion Locke Horton, 96, of Hot Springs, formerly of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born in Fountain Hill, Ark. on February 28, 1916 to the late Robert Lee Locke and Ann Wood Locke. She was a long time resident of Monticello, retired from Burlington Industries and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church. Marion also enjoyed working as a volunteer for the Women's Auxiliary of Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Marion Horton; a twin sister, Martha Sivils Herrington; two sisters, Ines Locke Riley and Lonnie Jim Grubb; three brothers, Mabry Locke, Theron Locke and John Locke. She is survived by two nieces, Pam Herrington of Hot Springs and Ann Morse and husband Wally of Greenville, Miss.; two nephews, John Sivils and wife Alice of Leesville, La. and Bill Grubb and wife Virginia of Lexa, Ark.; and many special friends. Special thanks to West Shores Assisted Living in Hot Springs, Dierksen's Hospice and many special caregivers. Funeral Service will be Friday, November 23 at First Baptist Church in Monticello with Rev. Dennis Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
