Tom Athel Ashcraft of Grapevine, Arkansas passed from this life to his blessed eternal Heavenly home, November 20, 2012, at the age of ninety two. He was born in Grapevine, Arkansas on November 10, 1920, to parents Hermie and Jamie Lee Ross Ashcraft. He was a logger and farmer and was known as "The hardest working man in Grant County!" He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother J.O. (Bud) Ashcraft. He is survived by his wife of seventy two years, Maxine Middleton Ashcraft, of the home. One son, Don and wife Doris Ashcraft, of Sheridan. Daughters: Nelda and husband James Freshour, of Grapevine, Freda and husband Don Carter, of Benton, Judy and husband Jim Nelms of Searcy, and Faye Ashcraft of Grapevine. Three sisters: Ernestine Hedden, Mary Bradshaw and Esther Ramey, all of Sheridan. Athel and Maxine were responsible for a clan of five children, twelve grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memory, other relatives and hundreds of friends. Visitation will be Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan. Funeral services will be held at Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church at Grapevine, on Friday, November 23rd at 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to Hedden Chapel Assembly of God Church at Grapevine.
