Jerome McArthur "Mac" Vanderslice of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, November 22, 2012, in Des Arc, Arkansas. Mac was born on January 22, 1943, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Mac graduated from Arkansas High School in Texarkana, class of 1960. He and his wife, Shirley Ann Bell, were joined in marriage on April 14, 1962, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Mac loved playing dominoes and fishing with his family and friends and enjoyed cheering the Arkansas Razorbacks to victory. He was an avid entrepreneur in the floral and food business. Mac is survived by his wife, Shirley Bell Vanderslice; daughter, Cynthia Jones and husband Chip of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Debbie Vanderslice of Little Rock, Arkansas; granddaughter, Edy Addison and husband Gibbons of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; granddaughter, Hannah Wren of Texarkana, Texas; brother, C.W. Vanderslice, Jr. and wife Jean of Texarkana, Texas; brother, Aiken Vanderslice and wife Dolores of Longview, Texas; sister, Ruth Baber of Crestview, Florida; sister, Jeanette Phillips of Wake Village, Texas; sister, Carolyn Lane of Benton, Louisiana; brother, Kenneth Vanderslice and wife Pat of Richardson, Texas; and sister, Joyce Mitchell and husband Albert of Texarkana, Texas. Mac is preceded in death by his mother and father, Columbus Washington Vanderslice and Ethel Thompson Vanderslice, and infant sister Patsy Vanderslice. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the Texarkana Funeral Home Arkansas Chapel, 4801 Loop 245, Texarkana, Ark.
