Pauline Jones Daugherty, of Benton, died Saturday, Nov. 24,2012 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton, Ark., after suffering a stroke on Friday. She was 95 years old. Pauline was born on Jan. 23, 1917 in Sayre, Ark., located in Ouachita County. She was the daughter of the late Jewell Hudson Jones and Jewel Ann Pearce Jones. The family moved to Bauxite, Arkansas when Pauline was about four years old. Pauline met her future husband, Warren Kelley "Doc" Daugherty at a church revival in Bauxite. They were married July 30, 1933. Doc was the love of her life and when he died on Dec. 2, 1995 they had been married 62 years. Pauline was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Winfred Jones and James Pearce Jones; two sisters, Cornelia Jones Curt and Aurelia Jones Caple; a grandson, Warren Kelley "Butch" Daugherty; and a daughter-in-law, Martha Willis Daugherty. She is survived by three sons: Warren Kelley "Doc" Daugherty of Pine Bluff, Phillip Wayne Daugherty (Sharon) of Benton; and Richard Ronald Daugherty (Jan) also of Benton; seven grandchildren: Tamara Daugherty Gates of Pine Bluff, Charles Daugherty (Donna) of Jasper, Angelia Daugherty Gay (Russ) of Monticello, Jennifer Daugherty Emery (Rob) of Batesville, Julie Daugherty Miller (John) of Benton, Heather Daugherty Harper (Phillip) of Winchester, Tenn., Richard Daugherty (Mindy) of Germany; 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; three nephews and six nieces. Pauline always put her husband and children first in her life. She was a person that enjoyed people and was loved by all ages. She liked traveling, playing cards, reading, and talking on the phone. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Benton and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Visitation will be held at Roller-Ballard funeral Home in Benton (315-4047) Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, 11 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park, with Reverend Clyde Chenault officiating.
