Billy Eugene Elmore, 81, of Carlisle went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2012. He was born August 9, 1931 in Carlisle to the late Jim Henry Elmore and Sylva Beachel Elmore. He was a graduate of Carlisle High School and then married Dorothy Fay Parker, wife of 62 years. He was in the Navy during the Korean War, and then they made their home back in Carlisle, farming for the rest of his life. He was active in his town and community, serving on the Carlisle School Board, Hamilton Cemetery, and Hamilton United Methodist Church. His passion in life was Razorback games and he and Dorothy attended football, basketball and track meets. Preceding him in death are his parents, brother E.F. Elmore, sisters Ruth Otero and Elaine Lawson, and two daughters Sylvia Lee Elmore and Dorothy Jean Elmore. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Elmore, daughter, Kay Loftis and husband Gary, grandson, Garrett Loftis and wife Tiffany and great-granddaughter, Tenley Loftis, all of Carlisle, and grandson Heath Loftis and wife Ashley of Conway. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 28 at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
