Clarence Hobbs

Rev. Dr. Clarence Hobbs, 76, of Conway, departed this life November 24, 2012. Rev. Hobbs received his Doctorate of Theology from unity Bible College, Masters of Divinity and Contemporary Christian Ministry from Fresno Pacific College, Fresno, Calif. Bachelor of Science from Connecticut College in New London, Conn. He graduated High School 1955 in Decatur, Miss. Rev. Hobbs enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1956 where he served on the USS Skate, the 1st submarine to surface at the North Pole and placed U.S. flag. He retired after serving 20 years. Rev. Hobbs was the presiding Elder of the Pine Bluff/Wilmont District and Pastor of Moores Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church Cleveland, Ark. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Jessie A. Hobbs; mother, Ida Mae Hobbs; brother, Henry Hobbs; grandson, Samuel Hobbs. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Brenda Hobbs; four sons, Stacey Lee, Juantez Lee, Clarence Hobbs, II, Stephen Hobbs; four daughters, Tracelyn Lee, Crystal Lee, Bre'Anna Hobbs, Clarneisha Hobbs; siblings, Willie Earl Hobbs, Mrs. Ister Roberts, Rev. Hilda Jones, Mrs. Jessie Lee Jamieson, Joseph and Robert Hobbs; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of family and friends. Family hour: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday and Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Saturday, both to be held at St. Paul Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, 3221 S. Gaines St., Little Rock, Presiding Elder M.O. Carter and Rev.
