William Andrew "Bill" Humphrey

William Andrew "Bill" Humphrey, age 77, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Thursday, November 15, 1934 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Vernon and Gertrude Humphrey. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a retired Command Sergeant Major with the United States Army. He was an Educator for over 30 years and officiated high school and college baseball for 30 plus years. He also played professional baseball with the Cardinal Organization. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Judy Humphrey of Hawkins, Texas; two sons, Mark Humphrey and Tim Humphrey both of Southern California; two daughters, Cindy Humphrey of San Diego, California and Lori Launius of Little Rock, Arkansas; and five grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Beaty Funeral Home in Hawkins. A memorial service will be held at Beaty Funeral Home in Hawkins on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brad Crawford officiating. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Heart Association in his name or Christies Chapel Cemetery Fund.
