Norvin Albert Brewer

Norvin Albert Brewer was born on December 24, 1929 to Victor Albert Brewer and Clara Elizabeth Robinson Brewer in Mt. Vernon, Arkansas. He was called from his time here on earth on October 14, 2012. His childhood was spent in Arkansas. In 1951, he served in the United States Army. After being discharged in 1953, he married Donna Mae Ketter whom he met in Tacoma, Washington. He often said that his first sermon was preached in Conway, Ark. in 1954. For the following years leading up to preaching school in 1970, he worked at various jobs as a machinist. After graduation, he spent the next 40 plus years in ministry of the gospel in local congregations in Texas, Washington, Illinois and Kentucky. He loved God and spent his life studying, learning, teaching and preaching about Jesus' unconditional love and forgiveness. He spent many of those years giving of his time and energy to many different causes, the most recent being Life Care Ministries, a food bank for those in need. He had a lifelong love of horses and gardening and spent many hours tending his garden and riding and training his horse, Cody. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Victor Albert and Clara Elizabeth Brewer. Also, his sister, Lillian Stell and his brother, Alvin Brewer. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna Ketter Brewer. His children, Wayne and Susan Brewer of Mabelvale, Ark., Wanise and J. Lemmons of Searcy, Ark. and Ralph and Geneva Brewer of Bowling Green, Ky. Also his 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, Sarah and T.J., Norah, Silas, Amelia and Joel Spradling of Bunker Hill, Ind., Jennifer and Chad, Justin, Anthony, and Lily Osborn of Searcy, Ark., Amanda, Joe and Adison Morton of Searcy, Ark., Elise, Lee and Lucas McLemore of Corinth, Miss., Ashley, Steve, Jack and Addison DeVlieger of Nashville, Tenn., Juliane and Stan McCorkle of Hang Zhou, China, Andrew Lemmons of Searcy, Ark., Brian Brewer of New York City, N.Y., Joanna Lemmons of Search, Ark., Christine and James Durham of Bowling Green, Ky. and Amy Cross Brewer of Bowling Green, Ky. He is also survived by his sisters, Hazel Atterberry and Glenda Mabry and his brothers, Elmo Brewer and Vic Brewer, all of Conway, Ark. His life was filled with love and laughter and he will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of coming into contact with him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Potter Children's Home, Bowling Green, Kentucky or the American Cancer Society. Visitation locally will be at Cone Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday evening at the funeral home with Jack Ray and Bob Raby officiating. Visitation at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Ark. will be Thursday, Oct. 18th from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. The funeral service there will be at 1 p.m. on Friday with L.V. Pfeifer officiating.
