Vera Marshall Rogers of Sheridan, Arkansas was born October 4, 1922 at Bleeker, near Carthage, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Oscar and Ela Nora Cearley Marshall. She was a faithful member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Immanuel Baptist Church in Sheridan. She enjoyed reading, quilting, working in her yard and spending time with her family. Mrs. Rogers passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Baptist Health Medical Center at the age of 90. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Orvis Rogers, sister, Virginia Carmical and baby brother William Oscar Marshall. She is survived by her children, Linda and Rayvon Vailes of Sheridan; J.C. Rogers of Kingsland, David and Kaye Rogers of Sheridan, Dennis and Pattie Rogers of Sheridan and Patty and Jim Eoff of Clinton; sisters, Vira Chambers of Kingwood, Texas, Velma Jones of Carthage; brother, Olan and Ernestine Marshall of Monahans, Texas; sister-in-law, Vivian Nash of Fordyce; 10 grandkids; 18 great grandkids, Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Immanuel Baptist Church Epperson Center in Sheridan with her grandson Bro. Nathan Rogers and Bro. Gary Copeland officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery near Fordyce.
