Lucy Jordan Travis Mercer

Lucy Jordan Travis Mercer, 37, of Dallas, Texas passed away in Minneapolis, Minn., Oct. 15, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 24, 1974 in Monroe, La. and graduated from Westover School in Middlebury, Conn. She went on to Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Mass. before returning to Dallas to graduate from Southern Methodist University. She was preceded in death by her brother, Clifton "Clif" Howell Travis III; father, Clifton Howell "Butch" Travis Jr.; her paternal grandfather, Clifton Howell "Hal" Travis Sr.; her maternal grandfather, Albert Eugene Yarbrough, all formerly of England, Ark.; and her grandmother, Miriam Seligman Schendle of Bastrop, La. She is survived by her husband, Jay Mercer of Dallas, Texas; parents, Susan Yarbrough Travis Schendle and H.I. Schendle of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Frances Elaynne Schendle of San Francisco, Calif.; one brother, Harris Ian Schendle of Dallas, Texas. Also, her paternal grandmother, Hazel B. Travis of England, Ark.; her maternal grandmother, Jackie Jordan Yarbrough of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Winnsboro, La. and England, Ark. and her grandfather, Joseph M. Schendle of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Bastrop, La. A private graveside service will be held by Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939 at Mulberry Cemetery in England, Ark. with Dr. Robert C. "Ric" Cannada Jr., of Jackson, Miss., Chancellor Emeritus Reformed Theological Seminary officiating. Visitation will be held at the Travis home, 115 S. E. Third St., England, Ark. from 2-5 p.m. on Tuesday.
