Robert Williams

Mr. Robert Williams of Grubbs, 87, died at St. Bernard's Hospital Oct. 25, 2012. He was born at Surrounded Hill Aug. 25, 1925 the son of the late Ross and Edna (Roussel) Williams. He was a World War II Veteran serving the U. S. Navy as a 1st Class Petty Officer on the Aircraft Carrier "Belleau Wood" CVL-24 in the South Pacific. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grubbs, a 32 degree Mason and past Master of Fidelity 703. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and visiting with friends and family. He liked to spend time at his cabin on Greers Ferry Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jean Allen Williams; one beloved son, Ross Allen Williams; a grandson, Jaxon Dunnam; two sisters and three brothers. He is survived by one son, Robert David Williams (Sharon) of Grubbs; one daughter, Beth Ann Williams Dunnam of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Sy Williams, Monica Williams (Hoselton), Ana Grace Williams and Kingston Dunnam; three great-grandchildren, River Hoselton, Ross Williams and Gentry Williams; one sister, June Allen of Grubbs; three brothers, Joe Ed Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., Dean Williams and Billy Max Williams both of Heber Springs and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Grubbs First Baptist Church with Brother Hoover Lewis and Junior Ray Barham officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 28, from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at Sandhill Cemetery in Auvergne. Pallbearers will be all nephews and grandson.
