J. Carroll Dyer

JC Dyer went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 30, 2012. John Clarence "JC" was born on April 7, 1928 as the only child to Clarence and Carolyn Dyer. A lifelong resident of Howard County, he spent his childhood in Dierks, Arkansas where he met and married the love of his life, Jackie on July 12, 1947. JC and Jackie began their marriage in Dierks and eventually moved to Nashville where, except for a few years, spent their 65 years together raising their family. JC enjoyed his family, his work, his church, and until recent years, horseback trail riding. JC was preceded in death by his parents of Dierks, Clarence and Carolyn Dyer. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline of Nashville; daughters, Judy Blalock and her husband Rick of Plain Dealing, Louisiana and Jane Dyer of Nashville; granddaughters, Amy Pope and her husband Jeff of Benton, Louisiana and Jennifer Keeney and her husband Michael of Nashville; five great-grandchildren, Ian and Ethan Pope and Zane, Yvette and Luxie Keeney. Lifelong friends, Bobby and Marcille Dallas of Nashville. JC retired as a respected member of the Arkansas Board of Realtors. He served on the Arkansas Real Estate Commission, was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club and served as past President of the Millwood Realtors Association. JC also served on the bank board for the First National Bank and even after retiring, enjoyed going to the bank in the mornings to drink coffee and catch up on local events and news. He donated his time for many years as an auctioneer for local 4-H groups and the FFA in their livestock sales. JC was also longtime member of the Nashville Rotary Club and may other civic organizations. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Nashville with Brother David Blase officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday night at Nashville Funeral Home.
