Arthur Doyle Manning

Mr. Arthur Doyle Manning, Sr. 89, of Houston, Texas, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Houston, Texas. Arthur was born January 14, 1923 in Rosston, Arkansas to William and Allie Fincher Manning. Mr. Manning was a resident of Houston, Texas for over 45 years where he was a member of the First Methodist Church of Houston. He then moved to Prescott and became a member of Harmony Methodist Church. He was also a WWII Army veteran. He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years prior to her passing, Betty Sampson Manning; his mother and father and several brothers and sisters. Mr. Manning is survived by one son, Arthur D. Manning Jr. and wife Karen of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Peggy Mazoch and husband Kerry of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Melissa Manning of San Antonio, Shane Gay and wife Katherine of Houston, Texas, and Donny Gay and wife Kimberly of Warrenton, Va.; four great grandchildren, Sophie Gay, Eli Gay, Caleb Gay and Jonah Gay; brother-in-law James Sampson of Prescott, Ark. and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. with services to follow at 2 p.m. in the Laneburg Baptist Church on Friday, September 7, 2012 with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Interment to follow in Laneburg Cemetery under the direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home of Hope.
