Billy "Sonny" Draper

Billy "Sonny" Draper, 71, of Bauxite, Ark. passed away Sunday, September 9th. He was born January 19th 1941 in Lono, Ark. to the late W.W. (Bill) and Evelyn (Shelby) Draper of Bauxite. He worked for Dassault Falcon Jet in Little Rock for almost 25 years, having completed a long career in the aircraft industry that spanned 40 years starting in the Air Force as a Vietnam Veteran through various supplemental airlines that took the family to Abilene, Texas, Ardmore, Okla., Harrisburg, Pa., Fairborn, Ohio and Memphis, Tenn. before moving back to Bauxite to be near family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ellen (Rudolph) Draper and sister Betty (Draper) Lawrence of Chattanooga, Tenn. He is survived by his son, Tj=he Rev. Keith & Barbara (Dahms) Draper of Chicago, Ill., daughter, Kathy (Draper) Johnson and husband Johnny of Bauxite and 10 grandchildren. His siblings include his sister, Louise (Draper) Davis of Bauxite, brother, The Rev. Jimmy Draper of Elkins, Ark., brother, Ronny Draper of Star City, Ark. and sister, Linda (Draper) Kelly of Fairplay , Ark. alongside many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at Trinity Baptist Church, 702 Church Street in Benton at 2 p.m., Wednesday with burial to follow at Mt Olive Cemetery returning to his wife Ellen's side. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews. Visitation will be at Ashby's, Tuesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family prefers that memorials be given to Trinity Baptist Church.
