Frances Jo Ahlf of Searcy, Ark. passed away on September 9, 2012. Jo was born March 1, 1923 to R.A. Williams Sr. and Beulah Williams at Lancaster, SC. Jo was the next to youngest of ten children and was raised in Blair, OK where she graduated high school. Jo .was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James W. Ahlf, her son James Alan Ahlf, and seven brothers and sisters. Jo is survived by her son, Roger Ahlf of Searcy, Ark., sisters Marion Bingaman of Edmond, Okla., and Clara Hathcote (Joe Lee) of Benton, Ark., two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren all of California, along with numberous nieces and nephews. Jo is also survived by her extended family Kim Underwood of Judsonia, Ark. and the residents and employees of River Oaks Village Assisted Living at Searcy, Ark. Jo was a long time member of the Beethoven Music Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the First Methodist Church of Searcy, Ark. Jo retired from the Social Security Office at Searcy after 12 years of service, which she said were probably the best years of her life. Jo was employed by the Searcy Chamber of Commerce and the Employment Security Office prior to her service with the Social Security Office. Jo was a longtime volunteer with the Central Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary. Jo loved music, laughter, family, and the company of good friends. She was always up beat, appreciated everything that anyone did for her, and genuinely loved and cared about people. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy.
