Eva Mae Combs

Eva Mae Combs, age 91, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 4th 2012. For the last two years, she has resided in The Woodlands Healthcare Center in the Houston area after falling and breaking a hip. During her residence there, she never once complained, but occasionally she did ask for her car keys. She smiled and enjoyed visits from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life she remained faithful to Christ & his teachings, her family, & friends. She was such a strong & brave individual and will be missed greatly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hamp S. Combs Jr. and a granddaughter, Vicki Lynn Combs, the daughter of James and Barbara Combs. In addition, she is survived by two sons & one daughter; James & Barbara Combs of Bryant, Ark., Harold Dean & Frances Combs of Houston and Pamela & Patrick Pendleton also from Houston. She had 9 grandchildren, & 12 great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service in her honor on Oct. 27th at 2 p.m. under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors & internment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in El Dorado.
