Sue Matthews

Memorial Services for Sue Matthews are scheduled for September 23, 2012, 3:30 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Pastor David Maynard will officiate along with Pastor Steve Peterson of Ogden, Utah. Burial is at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Heber Springs, Arkansas under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home. Rebecca Sue Matthews was born June 14, 1943 in Heber Springs, Arkansas the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Littlefield) Massey. She died Friday, September 14, 2012 at Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 69 years of age. The former Miss Sue Massey was a graduate of Heber Springs High School and received her Bachelors Degree from Hendrex College and her Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas. She married Franklin Rue Matthews on March 3, 1968, in Heber Springs. He preceded her in death in 1997. Sue worked as a Med Tech at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, and UAMS Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She moved to Bixby, Oklahoma 2 years ago from Jacksonville, Arkansas. Sue was a gemologist and enjoyed walking and spending time with her grandchildren. She found great joy in traveling overseas to Africa and Belize for international missions trips to spread the gospel. She is survived by, daughters, Debby Edwards, Hot Springs, Ark., Beth and husband Dale Nash, Anchorage, Alaska; sons, Mark and wife Anna Matthews, Tulsa, Okla., Edwin and wife Pat Matthews, Jacksonville, Ark.; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
