Cynthia "Cindy" Meech, 68, West Melbourne, Fla., formerly of Chicago, Ill. and North Little Rock, Ark., passed away peacefully at home Saturday, September 22, 2012, after a courageous year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Her loving husband of 40 years, Robert (Bob) Meech, preceded her in death in 2007 after also suffering from pancreatic cancer. She was born in Chicago, Ill. on September 30, 1943 to Lucille Schatz and the late Wilbur Schatz. Cindy was a retired 26-year employee of Sears Roebuck & Co., where she was a sales manager. Cindy enjoyed time with her Lunch Bunch, winning at bunko, fitness activities, and was an avid walker, even throughout her illness. She was a loyal friend to many, and known to all for her positive energy, willingness to help, quick laughter, and enjoyment of time spent with friends and family. She is survived by her daughters, Christine (Mike) Keene of Cumming, Ga., Sally Lutes of West Lafayette, Ind., Lisa (John) McAteer of Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren, Brittany Rogers (Johnathon Paape), Kameron and Stefanie Lutes, Lillian and Harrison McAteer; siblings, William (Grace) Schatz, Barbara (Tony) Riscili, Kathleen (Richard) Awe, Susan (Ed) Zbikowski, and Daniel (Jennifer) Schatz; beloved mother-in-law, Florence (Lucky) Meech; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill (Kathy) Meech, Cathy (Jim) Vallarta, Ralph (Cathy) Meech, Karen (Pete) Janits and John (Cathy) Meech; lifelong friends, Susan Tritt, and Ron and Karen Kuzma, and a host of extended family and close friends. The family would like to thank the many medical professionals who aided in her treatment and care. A mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 29th.
