Lorene Willaims

Lorene Williams, age 87, of Arkadelphia passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 in Arkadelphia. She was born Feb. 3, 1925 the daughter of the late Carley and Nettie Meeks Dodwell. Lorene was a cafeteria worker for several area schools and worked at Juanita's Candy Kitchen in Arkadelphia. She was a lifelong member of Third Street Baptist Church, was an active member of Golden Ages and the Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Carl Williams on Sept. 5, 1990; by six brothers, Lenord, Doyle, Meliven, Lloyd, Bobby and Tommy Dodwell and one sister, Dorothy O'Hart. Survivors are two daughters, Nancy Fosco and husband, Peter of Hot Springs, Betty Tate of Arkadelphia; one brother, Louis (L. T.) Dodwell of Arkadelphia; one sister, Slyvia Thomas and husband, Joe of Garland, Texas; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Latham officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
