Martha Anne Flucht Bailiff

Martha Anne Flucht Bailiff passed away on Sept. 19, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. She was born June 23, 1933 in Syracuse, Kan. She grew up in Van Buren, Ark., graduated from Van Buren High School where she was honored as an all-state basketball player and as Homecoming Queen. She met her future husband, Lt. Robert Bailiff, who was stationed at nearby Camp Chaffee. Most of their married life was spent in Austin, San Antonio and New Braunfels area. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Marsh was predeceased by her mother, Emily Sue Moore Flucht Miller; father, Elmer L. Flucht Sr.; step-father, Oscar H. Miller; brother, William Wood Flucht; and grandparents, David Walker Moore and Sue Wood Moore. Survivors include sons, David (Angie), Michael and daughter Jane Bailiff Mullen (Gary); eight grandchildren and one great-grandson and brother, Elmer L. Flucht Jr. (Mozella). A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at St. John's Episcopal Church in New Braunfels. There was also an internment at Fairview Cemetery in Van Buren, Ark.
