Mr. EARL WILLIAMS, 91, of Little Rock departed this life peacefully Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in his home. He served his country honorably in the 761st Tank Battalion during WWII. He had an opportunity to play professional baseball in the Minor League but gave up the chance to have a family. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church-LR. He was preceded in death by his wife, Freddie Washington-Williams. Left with cherished memories are his daughter, Connie Marie Williams; sisters, Dora Winston and Irene Smith-Tillman; god-son, Ruan Ross; god-daughters, Carolyn Rucker and Roza Claiborne; and a special niece, Delores Jean Hill. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 8, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 816 W. 15th Street, LR. Services by GateWay Funeral Chapel, 2405 South Gaines Street. Family visitation will be today, April 7, from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home, 376-7188.
