Everett Eugene Donham

Captain Everett Eugene Donham of Hensley, Arkansas was born August 9, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of the late William Everett and Gertie Mae Palmer Donham. He was a member of Marlow Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, a member of Iron Springs Masonic Lodge and a member of Arkansas State Police Association. He was Chief Deputy for 10 years for Saline County Sheriff, had been employed for 30 years as Captain for Arkansas State Police upon retirement. He had served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean war, having been among the Frozen Chosin. He also received a Purple Heart. Captain Donham died Monday, April 8, 2013 at Southern Trace Nursing Home in Bryant at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his son, David Donham, and his wives, Pauline Donham and Peggy Donham, and the mother of his children, Jean Marie Mathews. Survivors: sons, Dale E. Donham and wife Linda of Hensley; Brian E. Donham and wife Stacey of Hensley; Step-son, Charles David Donham and wife Karen of Haskell; daughter, Karen Wilkerson and husband Monroe of Hensley; Step-daughter, Mary Ann Johnson and husband Jerry of Sherwood; Daughter-in-law, Teresa Donham Gilliam of Hensley; sister, Ailene Williams of Cabot; grandchildren, Everette and Tish Wilkerson, Staci Wilkerson, April and Jesse Flora, Samuel Donham, Alex Donham, Natasha and Richie Howard, Michael Donham, Stormy Donham, William Donham, Matthew and Michael Johnson, Cristy Bowen and Charlie Donham; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of fellow officers and friends. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at East Union Baptist Church in East End with Bro. Paul Roberts and Bro. B.J. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in East End. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be the State Police Honor Guard.
