Rev. J.W. Bobo, 82, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Hope, was born July 29, 1930, in Spring Hill, Arkansas. He went to be with His Lord on April 8, 2013. Rev. Bobo was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God for over 50 years. He attended Southwestern Assemblies of God Bible College and went on to pastor churches in McCaskill, Hot Springs, Culbert Springs, Warner Spur, Forrest City, Booneville, Lewisville (starting the church there), Hope, Monticello, and Hot Springs Village. He also served many years as a Presbyter in the Arkansas District. He was currently attending First Assembly of God Church in Malvern. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mable McCoy Bobo, father, Ernest Bobo, his wife, Norma Jean, a daughter, Beth McAteer, a sister Louise Cummings, and three grandchildren, Robin Plumley, Andrew Plumley and Isaac Reddoch. Rev. Bobo is survived by his wife Virginia, his son, Jimmy Bobo and wife Kathy of Malvern, his daughter Linda Bobo Reddoch and husband John of Lafayette, Louisiana, his stepson Rick Bowen and wife Ruth, his stepdaughter, ReGina Johnston and husband Elwyn, thirteen grandchildren, Shannon McAteer Cook and husband Jamie, Luke McAteer and wife Faith, Misti Kennison and husband Mike, James Bobo and wife Amber, John Andrew Reddoch, Lydia Reddoch, Destiny Reddoch, Nathan Reddoch, Hagin Reddoch, Dustin Johnston, Dylan Johnston, Randy Bowen and Susanna Bowen, and four great-grandchildren, Baylie, Katie and Austin Cook, and Ella Beth Kennison. Rev. Bobo is also survived by three sisters, Wanda Faye Whitaker of Minden, Louisiana, Ernestine Beck of New Boston, Texas, and Sylvia Owens of Nashville, Arkansas, and a son-in-law, Gary McAteer of Bodcaw, Arkansas. Family visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Assembly of God Church in Malvern, missions, 1421 South Main Street, Malvern, Arkansas 72104. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 11, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Chapel, with his son Rev. Jimmy Bobo, Rev. Larry Moore, Rev. Kenny Martin and Rev. Homer LaRue officiating.
