Jean Hill

Virginia "Jean" Ruth Grice Hill, 85, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Born September 12, 1927 along the Lonoke and Jefferson County line, she was a daughter of the late Homer Grice, George Gibbins and Carrie Bell Davis Grice Gibbins. A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the Ruth class, she loved her church family dearly. She served as a waitress at diners and eateries around town over the years, always putting others wants and needs above that of her own. Even as she worked outside the home, she was a homemaker nonetheless. She loved her family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by 12 siblings, Bud Grice, Teddie Nalls, Jo Ann Clinton, Eithyel, Arvil, Arlie, Cecil, G.L., Billy, Bennie, Eula, and Lois Mae Gibbins. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Billy G. Hill, to whom she was married May 30, 1980; daughters, Dianne Doss (Donnie), and Renee Hunthrop (Chris); siblings, Dean Porter, Don Grice (Frances), Belle Jones, and Jimmy Gibbins (Billie); three grandchildren, Ray Doss (Leslie), Ryan Doss (Ann) and Cameron Hunthrop; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Andy, Peyton, and Presley; and many other loving family and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to caregivers, Gertha Adway, Robbie Peyton, Ernestine Lawson and the Hospice Angels. Funeral services will be Friday, 10 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother M.L. Faler and Brother Bruce Grice officiating.
