Mary Pauline (Polly) Yauger Crank, a life-long resident of Foreman, died April 24, 2013 in Baptist Health Medical Center in Stuttgart, Arkansas surrounded by her family. Polly was born May 21, 1918 in Foreman to the late J.W. and Orville Yauger. After graduating from Foreman High School, Polly attended Draughon Business College in Dallas, Texas where she met Marion. They were married at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Foreman on April 12, 1940. They moved to Foreman in September of 1943 where they raised their children and made a wonderful life for themselves. Polly was thankful for her life, family and friends in Foreman and for their time on Lime Rock Hill where her children and parents loved living. She taught her family to be ethical, courageous, and gracious, but mainly to be a loving person to family and friends. Polly was the "Woman that made the Man" in that she supported Marion in all his political endeavors. She was a devoted member of Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church in Foreman since a child and was very active in all parts of the church especially the Altar Guild. Polly was a life-time member and past-president of the Foreman Thursday Music Club. She was also a member of the Little River County Historical Society. Polly was an amazing listener, never met a stranger, and will always be remembered for her smile. Polly was a devoted wife of 54 years to her husband Marion, and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt to all of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion H. Crank and her sister, Bettye Jo Snider. She is survived by her four children, Marianne Maynard from Stuttgart and her husband Neil; Robert Crank from Heber Springs and his wife Nadi; Margaret Amps from Little Rock; and Elisabeth Carter and her husband Dwight from Stuttgart; seven grandsons, Eric Maynard and his wife Susie, Alex Maynard and his wife Natalie from Stuttgart; Jason Maynard and his wife Nicole from Nashville, Tenn.; Chad Crank and his wife Kim from Little Rock, Hunter Carter and his wife Leah, Grant Carter and his wife Lyndsay and Drew Carter, all from Stuttgart. And other family members, Emily and Eric Mora from Austin, Texas and Jeremy and Shannon Amps from Cleveland. And fourteen lovely great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one nephew David Snider and his wife Loretta from Grapevine, Texas and Janie Sandoval Snider. The family wishes to thank the dedicated and caring persons who have been helpful and thoughtful in their care of Mother. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the Madden Funeral Home in Foreman. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Foreman. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
