Donald Lindsey Turney

Donald Lindsey Turney, age 73, of Little Rock, Ark died Wednesday, April 24, at Hospice Home Care. He was born July 22, 1939 at Harrison, Arkansas a son of Helen Cavaness Turney McMindes, Little Rock, Ark. and the late Don Demoy Turney. He received his education in the Harrison Public School System, was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello and held a Masters and Advance Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Mr. Turney was a retired teacher and public school administrator serving schools in Warren, Prairie Grove, Eudora, Swifton, Sheridan and retiring as superintendent of the Cabot School System. He was a Methodist. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Alice Faye Temple Turney, whom he married on August 13, 1961 at Warren, Ark.; two sons, Donald Lindsey Turney and spouse Renee, Sheridan, Ark.. and T.J. Turney and spouse Ellen, Russellville, Ark.; a sister, Carol Garner and spouse Jim, Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Bowman Turney. Graveside services 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27, Oakland Cemetery, Warren. Visitation 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Frazer's Funeral Home, Warren.
