William Alfred True

William A. True, 96, of Maumelle, Arkansas and Memphis, Tenn., died April 13, 2013, at his home. He was born July 20, 1916, in Booneville, Miss., son of William Leon True and Arra Graves Owen. He was a conductor on the Illinois Central Railroad for 40 years, a member of the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Association for 45 years, and a member of the Baptist Church in Booneville and Memphis. In December of 1936, he married Nell Opal Ogden True, who predeceased him in death on June 28, 2008. He was also predeceased by their only son, Herbert Alfred True in July 1977. Survivors include nieces and nephews Sandra Henson of Maumelle, Aimee Henson of Fayetteville, John D. Henson of Maumelle, James C. Kissell of Memphis, Philip Kissell of Hattiesburg, Miss., Wes Kissell of Ripley, Tenn., Steve Barmer of Oxford, Miss., Dwayne Barmer of Batesville, MS, Woody Ogden of Bella Vista, AR, and Winnie Ogden sister-in-law, of Jackson, Midd. A memorial for family and friends will be held on May 4th at 11 a.m., at Sandra Henson's home.
