John Steven Ringo

John Steven Ringo, 42, of Gillett, Ark. passed away April 25, 2013. He was born March 16, 1971 in Dumas, Ark. to Sherry Wright Ringo and the late William Earl Ringo. He is survived by his wife Lesa Leach Ringo, son, Jase Earl Ringo of Gillett, his mother Sherry Ringo of Dumas and two sisters, Beverly (James) Cook of Star City, Deborah (David) Williams of Pine Bluff, seven nieces, one nephew and three great-nieces. He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents, John and Donna Ringo and Hugh and Nora Wright. Steven was a member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Tichnor, Assistant Chief of the Gillett Volunteer Fire Dept., Secretary of the Gillett Farmers and Businessmen's Club, Past President of the Gillett Post Club Swimming Pool, Leader of the Gillett Boy Scouts and Sons Of Salt and Past Director of Gillett Civic Group. In 2009 Steven was named the Gillett Civic Group Volunteer of the year and in December 2010 he was named Gillett Citizen of the Year. These awards show Steven's commitment to serving his community through the Coon Supper, Heritage Days Festival, Gillett Christmas events and anywhere else he was needed. His heart was always in anything he did for his family or his community. Steven's dedication to Gillett serves as an example to us all. Steven was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by many. Visitation, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas from 6-8 p.m. and services, Sunday, April 28, 2013, First Baptist Church, Gould, Ark. at 2:30 p.m. with burial, Dark Corner Cemetery. Rev. Chad Philipp and Rev. Steven Manis will officiate. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, Ark.
