Earl Jess Brewer, 85, was called to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, April 25, 2013, at St. Vincent Inpatient Hospice in Little Rock, Ark. He was born July 6, 1927, in the Brewer Bottoms to Jenny and Wesley Brewer. He was preceded in death by beloved daughter Cindy Brewer; parents, Jenny and Wesley Brewer; and brothers, Leslie, Ed, Will Arthur, Jerry, J.W.; and sister, Mable Brewer. He is survived by his wife, Jerri Brewer; son, Wes and his wife Sherri Brewer; grandson, Brian Brewer and his children Austin and Alexis Brewer; granddaughter, Misti and her husband Kyle and their children Hudson and Davis Pattillo. He is also survived by his brothers, Alvin and Claude Brewer and Eugene and Lonnie Younger, in addition to many wonderful and loved nieces and nephews and sister in laws. Earl lived a full life and enjoyed every minute even with many years of suffering from arthritis. Even after an injury at work in the 1970s resulting in loss of fingers, he continued to work for Layne Arkansas digging water wells for 47 years. He loved every aspect of the outdoors including hunting and fishing and gardening. He loved people and he enjoyed telling stories. He was known for making muscadine, elderberry and plum wine. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Turpin Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Don White officiating and graveside service immediately following at Lone Tree Cemetery.
