Danny J. Young

Danny Joe Young, 63, of Camden, succumbed to his battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, July 31, 2013. Danny Young was born October 11, 1949 in Camden, Ark. He was an avid hunter and strong supporter of the NWTF. Danny served as ASA Commissioner, softball umpire and basketball referee. He was preceded in death by his father, John Young, Jr.; sister, Brenda Smith; step-father, Vernon Morris; grandmother, Gladys Owens; and grandfather, J. D. Owens. Survivors include his mother, Katherine Young Morris; brother, Johnny Young; daughter, Nikel York and her husband, Wes York; his granddaughters, Hannah and Kylie York of Fredonia, Ky.; and son, Chris Young of Hamburg, Ark.; and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Proctor Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Bethesda Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in Mt.
