Carroll Woolverton

Carroll Gene Woolverton, age 77, of Sherwood, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, the 5th, of August, 2013. Carroll was born June 24, 1935, in Center Ridge (Conway County), Arkansas to Roy Estus and Gertrude Mayall Woolverton. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Roy E. Woolverton, Jr., William Harold Woolverton and sister Glenna Faye Woolverton. Carroll is survived by his wife, LaDon Cottingham Woolverton, three children, daughters, Donna Casey (Kenny), Lisa Fortner (Terry) and son William Woolverton (Michelle) all of Sherwood. Nine grandchildren, Matt Casey (Sarah), Nicole Casey, Jessica Fortner Ezell (Blake), Rachel Fortner, Josh Fortner, Rebecca Fortner, Ashley Woolverton Reed (Shane), Colby Woolverton (Bethany), Sholey Joy Woolverton and two great- grandchildren, Reid Ezell and Greyson Reed. He is also survived by his brother Benny Lee Woolverton (Carolyn) of Hot Springs and sister-in-law, Georgie Woolverton, of Springfield, Arkansas; nieces, Betty Crook of Wooster, Harolyn Hannah of Hot Springs, Pam Harrell and Karen Hall both of North Little Rock and special cousins Judy and Jerry McKissack of Little Rock. The owner of Certified Service, Inc. (the original CSI), Carroll started his business on Ray Street in North Little Rock in 1964, doing commercial heating and air conditioning, eventually transitioning the business into electrical contracting. He moved his offices to Brookswood Road in Sherwood in 1975. In 1976 Carroll purchased Arkansas Filter, Inc., a commercial air filter supplier for businesses and hospitals across the state. Carroll was a master electrician and member of IBEW Union #295, and a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union #155. A member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church since 1958, Carroll was active in supporting many church building programs and children's ministries, including pulling the Children's Chapel in Sherwood Christmas parades. He was an avid basketball and baseball fan and a supporter of Abundant Life Schools. Carroll was a Mason, member of Sylvan Hills Masonic Lodge #754, A Scimitar Temple Shriner and a Square Dance caller from 1963 to 1998. In his 35 years of square dance calling he called for several clubs in the Central Arkansas area. A celebration of Carroll's life will be held at Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church, 9008 Sylvan Hills Hwy., Sherwood, Arkansas, Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Terry L. Fortner. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
