AW Busbea

A.W. Busbea, 87, of North Little Rock, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2013. He was born Sep. 6, 1925 in Dardanelle, Arkansas to Anderson W. and Lelia Reynolds Busbea. He was retired from the North Little Rock Fire Department, was a veteran of Division I and IV of the U.S. Marine Corp; served during World War II and the Korean Conflict; and was past president of the John Yancy Chosin Few. He was a member of Amboy United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Karla Busbea; and a great-grandson, Max Allen Daniel. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Mamie Winfrey Busbea; two sons, Larry Busbea and wife Wanda of Tucson, Ariz. and Phillip Michael Busbea and wife Patricia of North Little Rock; a daughter Sharon Busbea Kerr and husband Leslie of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews and family. Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013 at Amboy United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. A service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Rest Hills Cemetery, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock. The family requests that memorials be made to a charity of choice.
