Roy Bruce Jones
Roy Bruce Jones, age 90, of Pottsville, Arkansas passed away, Tuesday, August 6, 2013. He was born May 26, 1923 in Little Rock, Arkansas, a son of the late Galie Jones and late Luddie Danridge Jones Brown. He was a machine operator for Crompton Arkansas Mills, a member of Oppelo Methodist Church, a member of Conway County Mounted Patrol, and a WWII Veteran of the United States Army receiving a Purple Heart and Silver Cross. He was a member of the V.F.W and D.A.V. at Russellville.
Survivors include his wife Lucresa "Chris" Wise Jones; daughter Brenda Brixey and husband Kenneth of Adair, Oklahoma; sisters: Virginia Lawrence of Fresno, California and Hazel LaCook of Morrilton; two daughters-in-law: Paulette Stobaugh Jones of Atkins and Sandie Jones Blackman of Houston; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons: Ervon and Roy "Bucky" Jones; one daughter, Cynthia Jones; and the mother of his children Frances Yarbrough Jones.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Harris Chapel with Rev. Von Dell Mooney officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
