Elizabeth Mary "Betty" Althenhofel

ELIZABETH MARY "BETTY" ALTHENHOFEL, of Little Rock, died on Aug. 9, 2013, after a short illness. She was born in Barling, Ark., on Sept. 25, 1931, to Bernard L. and Agnes E. (Hassler) Geheb. Betty graduated from Mt. St. Mary Academy and attended Draughon school of business. She was married first to Robert M. Wylie and second to Henry J. Altenhofel, both who predeceased her. She worked as a bookkeeper for Independent Linen Service and later became an insurance underwriter, working with several local insurance companies during her career. Her avocations included stained glass creations and quilting. She spent much of her time as a caregiver to several relatives in need during her retirement years. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. She was survived by children Robert G. Wylie (Iris) of Rogersville, Mo.; Barbara A. Probst (Thomas) of Allen, Texas; Margaret S. Borecky (Steve) of North Little Rock; and Paul D. Wylie of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Christopher Borecky, Patrick Borecky, Katie Gaspard, and Elizabeth Braden, and two great-grandchildren, Jay and Ella, and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings: Bernard M. "Bernie" Geheb and Margaret S. "Peggy" Larch (Robert). Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Our Lady of Good Counsel with Father Warren Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m., at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. (501)224-8300.
